Our Conference of Heartfelt Service came to a celebratory conclusion on Monday, July 6th, with a BlessingsFest with John Morton held at Peace Awareness Labyrinth and Gardens.
Attended by more than sixty people, the Blessings Fest was organized by Mandy Weiss and Jean Zero along with Janet and Lawrence Cameniti. It was supported by an assisting team of more than thirty loving souls, including -- for the second year in a row -- our youngest assistant Chad Visser, and was ably facilitated by our very own Blessings man, John Morton. Michael Hayes was also present, and more than generously supported John and us all with his insight and assistance.
The BlessingsFest has become one of MSIA’s most enjoyed fundraisers, has been held in over eight states here in America, on four continents, and numerous countries. This year’s BlessingsFest was once again a true cornucopia of goodness.
The food was prepared by many assistants over many days, all directed by Victoria Ross and Kelly and David Funk, and was the most scrumptious yet. Participants had a choice between breakfast, lunch, brunch, and desert (I know it sounds funny, but you had to be there), as well as lots of yummy snacking food. It was surely a difficult time for all those who asked for the blessing of being released from any addictions relating to food, creamy stuff, richness and sugar, but somehow we all seemed to manage.
While the food was definitely a highlight, the real richness of a BlessingsFest is the opportunity to celebrate with so many of our community and bask in the richness of our Traveler sharing the goodness of God’s blessings on us all. This year was no exception as we began at 11 AM and the event concluded sometime after 6 PM. As per usual, each participant had the opportunity to submit a request in writing for a blessing and John then shared the blessing in such a way that all those present, and in fact all those who are open to receive the blessing, whether physically present or not, had the opportunity to receive of God’s goodness.
For some time now, MSIA’s annual conference week has concluded with a BlessingsFest, and for this year, being The Conference of Service, it seemed most appropriate to do so once again. John-Roger has stated, “Service is the highest form of consciousness on the planet,” and I can think of no better way to serve God than to open to, receive, utilize well, and return to others God’s Blessings on us all. The goodness of God’s blessing is available in every moment, in every situation, to every being, so if you happen to be one among many who were not physically present at the BlessingsFest, please consider taking a moment now to come into the stillness and peace and goodness of who you truly are, be still in the quiet within you, and open to and receive the love and blessing that is available in this moment. Celebrate the great truth that the blessings already are, that they are available in every moment, and the greater truth that you are indeed the blessing.
Baruch Bashan.
