It was a perfect afternoon as my friend, Jean, and I gathered together to watch The Perfect Relationship webcast with John Morton and Leigh Taylor-Young. Settling in with my trusty laptop and two sets of headphones, we prepared ourselves for a perfect time learning and sharing together in the blessings of Spirit. What a perfectly beautiful afternoon we had!

With her warmth and loving, Leigh welcomed all of us from around the world as well as inside the Brentwood Room in Santa Monica. Leigh noted that those of participating in the webcast are seeking to know ourselves as Souls and as one with God --- the fundamental teaching of John-Roger, D.S.S, the founder of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness (MSIA). Leigh then shared how folks were gathering to watch the webcast from cities in Nigeria, Argentina, Australia, Venezuela, Colombia and throughout the United States. Fifteen communities around the world hosted group viewings of the webcast as well. How perfect to be sharing together as one loving family of perfect relationships!

Leigh explained and then demonstrated how those of us familiar to MSIA begin our gatherings by Calling in the Light, which is a non-denominational prayer or invocation of the highest Light. We then chanted Ani Hu, an ancient term for God that brings forth the quality of empathy. After we watched two inspiring Moments of Peace videos, Leigh introduced John Morton, D.S.S., Spiritual Director of MSIA and the author of the inspiring books, The Blessings Already Are and You Are the Blessings. John travels around the world holding seminars and question and answer sessions to share the teachings of MSIA with those who are looking for them.

I heard John share about how we are all learning and becoming the perfect relationship within ourselves. John noted how we can experience that perfect relationship in an instant, brief moment, perhaps in less than one second, where we feel blissful or ecstatic. That moment can be in silence where we have a powerful knowing or realization that everything is perfect. Leigh then asked John about faith and the perfect relationship. I felt reassured when John explained that although we can have our doubts and fears, those thoughts and feelings are not who we are. We are God’s beloveds always. We are always in perfect relationship with the Lord.

John took comments from the audience present in the room and questions from those of us watching on the internet. I heard John remind us that perfection is always present. He then encouraged us to look at what we’re willing to change in order to have a greater knowing of that perfection and the perfect relationship within. John reminded us that were all made in the qualities of God, in God’s image, and that the human experience can seem to come up short at times. So when we err, we are called upon to look into the Spirit and remember that all is in perfect order, all the time. Then we can relax and be patient, which John referred to as letting go and letting God.

In response to concerns about the recent earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, John reminded us that throughout time our planet has experienced similar challenges. Leigh noted how the world is responding with great compassion and caring to serve and assist those affected around the world. She then shared a quote from John-Roger which John read to us, “If you would know the secret of Soul Transcendence, look for the good in people and things, and all the rest leave to God.” John then reminded us how, even in difficult circumstances, we’re called upon to love and accept and look for the good, even if our minds cannot understand. From these messages, I understood that by looking for the good, I’m having an experience of my Soul --- that divine perfect relationship.

From this webcast, I learned that the perfect relationship is in our heart and is a knowing, a trust, that is within us all. I’m grateful for John’s encouragement for all of us to claim the perfect relationship right now for ourselves, even if we can’t comprehend it or we have our doubts. I appreciate John’s reminder that we’re all here learning and growing as Souls. So we can strive towards that perfect love, knowing that whatever we start will be completed through the love and devotion of the Christ, the anointed one who resides within us all.

John closed the webcast with a perfect blessing for The Perfect Relationship. As Jean and I listened to John’s inspiring words, I could behold within myself that perfect relationship I know is my place in the heart of God. In that knowing, I realized that the perfect relationship already and always is. Thank goodness!

Leigh then introduced the President of MSIA, Paul Kaye, D.S.S., who is also the co-author with John-Roger, D.S.S. of four (soon to be five) books. Paul shared with us about a free book by John-Roger, Journey of a Soul, available to anyone. Paul also shared about my favorite study materials by John-Roger, Soul Awareness Discourses, which includes a 12 year set of monthly readings available for $50 for the first year.
